How a Brisbane engagement runs
Most matters start with a phone call rather than a form, so we can understand the business, why a valuation is needed and the date it should relate to. Once that is clear, the next step is a scope and a fixed fee confirmed in writing, so there are no surprises once work is underway. From there, financial statements, contracts, leases and other supporting material are uploaded through a secure link, and a video call is available for any part of the process where a conversation is more useful than an email. A draft valuation follows for your review, and once questions are resolved, we finalise and issue the signed report. There is no Brisbane office to visit and no local team involved, and a site inspection is not assumed as part of the process. Where a matter genuinely calls for one, it is discussed and scoped upfront rather than added later.
What we value in Brisbane
Brisbane's economy covers a wide spread of trading businesses, and the matters we see reflect that variety. Construction and trade businesses are common, from residential builders to specialist subcontractors, alongside allied health and healthcare practices serving the growing population across the city and surrounding regions. Logistics and transport businesses feature regularly too, given Brisbane's role as a distribution hub for southeast Queensland, along with manufacturing operations of varying scale. Professional services firms, including accounting, legal and consulting practices, and hospitality and retail businesses round out a diverse base. The work required is consistent across all of it: identify sustainable earnings, understand what is actually being sold or transferred, and match the valuation approach to the purpose behind it.
Working with your Brisbane accountant or lawyer
A meaningful share of our Brisbane work is instructed directly by an accountant or lawyer acting for their client, often as part of a shareholder exit or a broader restructure. Other matters begin with the owner, who then involves their adviser once the scope is agreed. The report itself is written for professional review, with assumptions and workings set out so an accountant or lawyer can check the reasoning rather than just the number at the bottom. With your authority, we are happy to speak directly with them to confirm details or answer technical questions once a draft is ready. Advisers who instruct on behalf of clients should see our page for accountants and lawyers for how these engagements are usually run.
Timing and fees for Brisbane businesses
What happens, and when
| Step | What you do | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Call | Explain the business and the purpose | Confirm suitability and next steps |
| 2. Scope | Agree to proceed | Send the fixed fee and scope in writing |
| 3. Documents | Upload records to the secure link | Review and query anything unclear |
| 4. Sign-off | Review the draft by video or email | Issue the signed report |
Standard signed reports start from $1,495 plus GST ($1,644.50 including GST) for suitable, straightforward matters. Work involving multiple entities, a historical valuation date or preparation for court proceedings is quoted once the scope is understood, following an initial conversation. For straightforward matters, a typical draft is ready 5 to 7 business days after all requested information is received. Because the engagement is remote, there is no travel cost built into the fee regardless of where in Brisbane the business operates. See our fees page for the full structure, or get in touch to discuss timing for your matter.
General information only. Valuation Group is based in Double Bay, Sydney, and does not maintain an office in Brisbane. Engagements are delivered remotely unless a site visit is agreed at scoping.
