Business valuations in Adelaide

Valuation Group is based in Double Bay, Sydney. There is no Adelaide office. Instead, an Adelaide business is valued using the same remote process we use across Australia: a scoping call, documents through a secure link, video meetings as needed, and a signed report at the end.

In short

Start with a phone call to confirm the purpose and scope, then receive a fixed fee in writing before anything else happens. Financial records go through a secure upload link, a video call handles any point that needs discussion, and a draft precedes the signed report, with no site visit needed.

How an Adelaide engagement runs

An Adelaide matter starts the same way any other does: a call to understand the business, the reason for the valuation and the date it needs to relate to. Once we can confirm the engagement is a good fit, the scope and a fixed fee are set out in writing before any work begins. From there, financial statements, contracts, asset schedules and any other relevant documents are uploaded through a secure link, and a video call is available at any stage where talking through a point is more efficient than emailing about it. A draft valuation follows for your review, and the signed report is issued once any questions have been worked through. There is no Adelaide office involved at any point, and a site visit is not assumed as part of the standard process. Our guide to preparing for a valuation is a useful starting point if you want to see what is typically requested before that first call.

What we value in Adelaide

South Australia's economy has long depended on manufacturing and engineering, and Adelaide matters often involve businesses in those areas, from precision engineering firms to broader industrial suppliers. Food, beverage and agribusiness operations are common too, reflecting the wider region's agricultural base, along with health, aged care and allied health providers serving Adelaide's established population. Professional services firms, including accounting, legal and advisory practices, feature regularly, as do retail and hospitality businesses across the metropolitan area. Whatever the industry, the questions we work through are the same: what earnings can the business sustain, what assets and obligations transfer with it, and what basis suits the reason a valuation is being prepared, whether that relates to a family law matter or something else entirely.

Working with your Adelaide accountant or lawyer

A good number of Adelaide engagements are instructed by an accountant or lawyer acting for their client, and others begin with the owner before their adviser becomes involved once scope is agreed. In either case, the report is written so a professional adviser can review the reasoning, not simply accept a final number. With your authority, we are happy to speak with your accountant or lawyer directly, whether that is to confirm a detail early on or to answer questions once a draft has been circulated. If you are advising a client on a valuation, our page for accountants and lawyers sets out how we typically structure these engagements.

Timing and fees for Adelaide businesses

Standard signed valuation reports start from $1,495 plus GST ($1,644.50 including GST) for suitable, straightforward matters, with more involved work, such as multiple related entities or a historical valuation date, quoted once we understand the scope. A typical draft is ready 5 to 7 business days after all requested information has been received. Because the work is carried out remotely, there are no travel costs added to an Adelaide engagement. Our fees page sets out the full structure, and you are welcome to contact us to talk through your matter before deciding anything.

All questions and answers

Will you visit our premises in Adelaide?

Not as a standard part of the process. The valuation is prepared from financial records, contracts and supporting documents reviewed remotely, together with phone and video discussion. We have no office or staff in Adelaide. If a matter genuinely needs a site visit, that is agreed and scoped in advance.

What does an Adelaide valuation cost and how long does it take?

Standard signed reports for suitable, straightforward matters start from $1,495 plus GST, with a draft usually ready 5 to 7 business days after all requested information is received. Work involving multiple entities or a historical valuation date is quoted separately after scoping.

Does a family law or tax valuation work differently in South Australia?

The valuation process itself is consistent, but the surrounding requirements depend on the matter type and are best confirmed by your adviser. Your accountant or lawyer will confirm the requirements that apply in South Australia, and we prepare the report to the basis and date they specify.
